Join Covering Climate Now for a series of free, hands-on online workshops designed for climate journalists looking to improve their social media content and grow their online audience

As more people prefer to get the news on social media instead of TV and print, CCNow is excited to offer journalists worldwide an opportunity to better reach this growing online audience through free training workshops. We invite you to join the Climate Social Media Lab, starting this June!

Open to print, audio, TV, freelance, and creator journalists from around the world, this year’s cohort of the Climate Social Media Lab will explore practical video and editing tips for creating engaging climate content, highlight methods to combat disinformation on social media, and provide a space for participants to learn and collaborate with one another. This exclusive training program spans three mandatory hour-long Zoom sessions over three weeks. In addition, optional half-hour sessions and office hours with CCNow staff will be offered to further refine one’s social media skills. By the end of the training, journalists will be better equipped to create sharper posts about the local impacts of climate change that will resonate with online audiences.

Space is limited for this summer training opportunity. Apply by Tuesday, June 2, 2026!

Our three main sessions include:

  • Engaging News Audiences on Social (Tuesday, June 9)
  • Building a Following (Tuesday, June 16)
  • Fundamentals of Video (Tuesday, June 23)

With additional half-hour optional sessions highlighting:

  • Advanced Video Editing Techniques
  • Disinformation and Trolls
  • Instagram Content & Templates
  • Support & Critique
  • And more!
